How many more American soldiers must die in what should be the safety and security of their own military bases before our leaders wake up and refuse Muslims access to the United States defense establishment?
In WWII, we interned the Japanese-Americans in prison camps -- and we had no such incidents anywhere in America, much less on our military installations. Now, don't go nuts -- I am not calling for anything nearly that extreme. I simply advocate keeping these practitioners of the "Religion of Peace" outside of the gates of our military bases.
"So sorry, Achmed -- the safety of our fighting men and women comes first. You'll have to settle for attacking an American civilian target since Homeland Security is more interested in strip-searching 80-year-old white grandmothers at airports than in keeping an eye on your radicalized butt."
FOX News is now calling this guy a "typical psychopath" -- do you agree with that? Hassan is an individual who is, according to the linked report, "a military psychiatrist who had allegedly called for Muslims to attack Americans over the Iraq War". Does that profile fit that of your average murdering nut job? I don't think so. I would instead describe him as a damned infiltrator. My God -- what a bunch of politically-correct wimps we have become. The Founding Fathers are spinning in their graves . . .
Now Homeland Security and the new Hate Speech cops can keep a special eye on me for daring to post such un-PC observations as these -- and America can sleep safely at night . . . right?

GOT YOUR SWINE FLU SHOT YET? NO? WELL, DON’T HOLD YOUR BREATH WAITING FOR IT . . .
I can’t speak to the situation nationwide, but here in western North Carolina all of the pharmacies, clinics and physician’s offices which had planned to offer the H1N1 flu shots have suddenly sprouted “Flu Serum Shortage – Shots Not Available!” signs. This applies to the typical seasonal flu shots as well as the H1N1 shots, by the way.
Now: our government has been ginning-up the public regarding H1N1 since at least April 2009. This I know because I posted an entry regarding this very topic on April 28 titled “SWINE FLU SPREADS; ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION CONTINUES APACE”.
http://itrodgytlow.blogspot.com/2009/04/swine-flu-spreads-illegal-immigration.html
Yes, I did (and still do) believe that H1N1 (“swine flu”) can be a public health threat to Americans – just as the government has been warning us for half a year. They would lead us to believe that this could be the next “killer flu epidemic of 1918”, and so . . .
The question is: WHAT THE HELL HAVE THEY BEEN DOING ABOUT IT FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS?!? The current administration claims to be so concerned about the well-being of Americans that it must subsume the banks, the car companies and the medical industry. So has this bunch of nanny-state geniuses done anything to address the issue over the past half-year? No. Have they produced enough serum to inoculate the entire population? Nope. Have they sealed our borders to illegal immigrants who can carry the nasty stuff here from the depths of the third world? Hell, no. Have they enabled the Gestapo at your local airport’s Checkpoint Charlie to conduct H1N1 health screenings and quarantines along with the routine humiliation to which air travelers are now subjected? CHECK! I personally feel comforted that, “for the sake of our health”, those typically healthy individuals who can afford to fly are being subjected to further harassment while those from the world’s cesspool nations who sneak across our borders are still being ignored – don’t you?
But back to the serum issue: WHY IS THIS STUFF NOT FLOWING IN THE STREETS BY NOW? This is exactly what unnumbered totalitarian regimes (such as the Soviet Union and Czarist Russia before it) have done for centuries: tell the people that they MUST have something for their own good, promise to be the sole provider of that “something” – and then deliver nothing!
I’m not sure whether this simply indicates incredible incompetence on the part of our “leadership” or whether there is something more deliberate and sinister afoot here, but just remember: these are the bozos who now run your banks and will soon be running every aspect of your health care.
Now, don’t you feel reassured . . ?

AND THE GLOBAL OBAMA-GASM CONTINUES UNABATED . . .
http://www.verizon.net/newsroom/portals/newsroom.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=newsroom_portal_page__article&_article=2374490
The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Obama?!? For what?!? Delivering the coup de grace to the working, middle and self-employed classes of America -- which were already decimated by twenty years of Bushes and Clintons? Holy crap!
And pardon me for presuming to ask, but: has 2010 actually arrived yet? What if, in the next couple of months, somebody discovers the cure for all cancers? Or how to power a small city with the energy from a single potato? "Sorry, pal, but the sheer magnetism of The One eclipses all potential achievements of any other individual."
Now please excuse me while I go throw up . . .

NO MORE POSTS FOR A WHILE . . . BUT I'LL BE BACK
I obviously have not been posting much lately. This has been in large part due to the care required for my 86-year-old mother who lives next door.
Yesterday, Mama fell and broke her left hip. She is now in Grace Hospital in Morganton, N.C. pending surgery, but the doctors must first strengthen her tobacco-damaged heart and lungs to the point where she can withstand the hip replacement operation. It goes without saying that she is now in a great deal of pain and requires heavy-duty pain medication and sedation, a situation which creates an additional layer of obstacles to readying her for surgery.
Since family does indeed come first, I am going to temporarily stop posting entries and responses until she is able to regain her mobility.
Please pray for the recovery of my Mama, Barbara Dreibus; for her health care professionals to give her the best care possible; and for sufficient wisdom for my wife and me to make the right decisions for her.
Because y’all know how I feel about doctors and hospitals . . .
Thank you.

“TORT REFORM”? IN N.C., YOU MIGHT AS WELL GIVE DOCTORS THE RIGHT TO KILL!
I keep hearing the anti-Obamacare crowd say that “We don’t need socialized medicine!” Fair enough . . . “All we need is tort reform!” Whoa, like hell we do!
“Tort reform” means that we will be less able to hold negligent physicians accountable for their actions (or lack thereof). I don’t know how the tort “land” lies in other states, but in North Carolina it is easier to sue your mechanic for screwing-up your car than it is to sue a doctor for harming you (or a loved one) through his negligence.
Ever take your car to a mechanic to have one problem repaired and have the car returned with that problem indeed fixed – but with three other new problems? Then the mechanic refuses to address the new problems which were created while the car was in his care? Of course you have had this experience – we all have. You can pretty easily sue that guy for his carelessness and attendant indifference – but you sure can’t sue a North Carolina doctor for doing the same thing! Of course, if you get “too” detailed when you discuss that doctor’s negligence he can sure as hell sue you!
My 86-year-old mother recently endured a second hospitalization and a two-and-a-half month rehabilitation ordeal just to get her past the lingering effects of the pneumonia, bladder infection and dehydration with which the first hospital (and the attending physician) released her. Yes, the first hospital addressed the ailment for which she was originally admitted – but they denied her both treatment and rehabilitation for the three new problems with which she was discharged! It required an emergency room physician at another hospital to render a diagnosis, treatment (eight days inpatient, four of them in ICU) and a prescription for rehabilitation.
I was going to let it all slide – but then we got a bill from the first hospital. After a brief “conversation’” with the hospital’s finance department, I decided to contact an attorney and see if perhaps we just might instead have the hospital pay us for Mama’s trauma. Three different Charlotte attorneys refused to take the case, the last one telling me that we “have no evidence of harm done”. That attorney readily admitted that North Carolina is not a “patient-friendly” state when it comes to medical negligence. He said that death or permanent disability pretty much had to result from medical malpractice in order to file a suit. Good grief, it’s easier to sue McDonald’s over spilled hot coffee than it is to hold the medical community in this state accountable!
So do I think we need Obamacare? Hell, no – that would only generate further unaccountability! But so would “tort reform”. So what is the answer to the health care disaster? More, not less, accountability for negligent physicians and hospitals (obviously); no refusal by insurers to cover those with “pre-existing conditions” (who the hell doesn’t have some of those?!?); and price controls. After all, conservatives expect the government to provide its essential function on a fixed budget – why not expect the same of the essential services rendered by the greedy damned health care industry?
Pretty simple, huh?

BAUCUS BILL “SOLVES” HEALTH INSURANCE CRISIS – BY FORCING EVERYONE TO BUY IT!
That’s right, folks – it is just as I predicted: “Romneycare” for everyone! Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney “solved” his state’s health care crisis by mandating that everyone buy health insurance, and now everyone in the other 49 will receive the same “opportunity”.
This is nothing but Socialist Security all over again and I will fight like hell to keep it from passing! If the damned Republicans had only imposed a few mild regulations upon the health insurance companies such as mandating that no one could be turned down for pre-existing conditions and had prevented cost increases from exceeding average inflation increases, then this might not be happening now.
Yes, it would have “tampered” with the free market’s ability to take advantage of the public just a little bit – but it was necessary, and now you are about to see a whole hell of a lot more tampering! In fact, they are about to tamper with your basic right not to have to buy a product. Mandating the purchase of any commodity, thereby generating an artificial demand, is the fastest way to drive up the cost. Now they will have to impose really stringent price controls unless they want to see still more families lose their homes – because they are forced to choose between insanely-high insurance premiums and mortgage payments! Dear God, I bet the greedy damned insurance companies LOVE this plan!
And predicted this too, did I not? The insurance companies would emerge from this smelling like a rose – and the rest of us would get the shaft.
Call your Congressmen and Senators now and tell them you don’t want to be obligated to yet another exercise in income confiscation – and if the elected official in question is a damned Republican, tell him you blame his party for the mess with which we are now faced!

"THE MOST TRANSPARENT ADMINISTRATION IN HISTORY" . . . RIGHT
Now that the truth about the oil-for-terrorist-release deal has been exposed, The Most Transparent Administration In History (which was instrumental in freeing Lockerbie terrorist Abdel Baset al-Megrahi) refuses to release records of their communications with the British diplomats so that the world might know what they knew and when they knew it. Meanwhile, British PM Gordon Brown claims that he "had nothing to do with it". This according to FOX News's Shepard Smith and his British correspondent about a half hour ago. The balance of the MSM will, I am confident, treat this knowledge with a big ho-hum.
Okay: let us imagine for just a moment that such a cover-up had occurred under the Bush Administration. What do you suppose the reaction would have been? There would have been much wailing, gnashing of teeth and renting of garments for months (years?), I can assure you that -- and it would have been justified, in my opinion, because Bush was no angel. But you won't hear a peep about this after this week (unless it is mentioned on FOX or on talk radio) because The One and his familiars always get a pass.
One more thing: does anyone else find the "humanitarian" release of a terminally-ill terrorist to be counter-intuitive? Since even the healthy ones regularly blow themselves up in the name of Allah (along with plenty of innocent bystanders), would it not then stand to reason that the unrepentant al-Megrahi might just be a substantial risk now that he is on the loose in his native Libya? Just wondering . . .
